The Development Psychology Section (DPS) is organized to advance our knowledge in Developmental Psychology (DP), to influence public policy, and to provide opportunities for professional, educational, and societal development in our area. Members are active on the DPnet.

MEMBERSHIP IN THE DEVELOPMENTAL SECTION OF CPA is presently only $26.25 for Ph.D. graduates and $5.35 for students. Associate Membership status  in the Developmental Section is available without full CPA membership. Please contact our Chair, Jennifer Sullivan at jfsulliv@stfx.ca

The Elinor Ames Award is given to the best student presentation in the developmental section at our annual convention. To be eligible for the award, students must be a first author of the presentation (oral or poster) and must be a member of the section at the time of the convention. The award is for $500 and a certificate. The 2009 winner was Belinda Boekhoven of Carleton University for her poster presentation entitled "Extra-curricular arts activities for adolescents, and the effects of parental involvement." Congratulations to Ms. Boekhoven!
