Online Research

Policing Study
The purpose of this research project is to determine student perceptions of policing as a career. If you agree to voluntarily participate in this research, your participation will be very minimal – it will take place at your convenience on-line, and you will be asked to read a short message about policing and then answer a few questions about your impressions of the message. It should take you about 10 minutes to complete.
To participate: For your participation, you will be entered into a draw for $100. For those of you who are interested in contributing to this research, please e-mail the primary researcher at: rmugford@connect.carleton.ca.

Rebecca Mugford, Carleton University

Experience Conducting Violence Risk Assessments

We are recruiting mental health professionals who have experience conducting violence risk assessments and who can read and write in English to participate in an on-line research project. The focus of the study is on the role of signature risk signs (i.e., early but reliable, unique, and invariant “signature” signals of impending relapse and elevation of risk).

Image Rating Survey
This survey asks participants to rate images of people on several questions (attractiveness, age etc.). It takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and will help inform the development of new methods to measure sexual interest.

Perceptions of Sexual Behavior in Relationships
In this study you will rate a series of acts that people may do to get a reluctant partner to have sex. You will rate each act on several questions, such as the level of physical injury the act may produce. The whole procedure takes approximately twenty minutes to complete.
