In consultation with the Council for Professional Associations of Psychologists (CPAP), CPA has developed a number of priorities and priority areas to guide the Practice Directorate for 2011-2012.

  • Advocacy workshop at CPA 2012 convention
    • To help increase CPA members' interest and skill in commitment to advocacy
  • Implement strategic plan branding
    • To develop common messages for professional psychology in Canada
  • Knowledge exchange
    • To increase communication, information sharing and material sharing between and among associations and individuals
  • Provide assistance for individuals and associations on an as needed basis including media releases and advocacy documents
  • Access
    • Improved understanding of psychological services and the contribution of psychology by government and other parties
    • Increased access for Canadians in need of psychological services.

Practice Directorate Engages Communications Firm

CPA’s Practice Directorate has engaged a communications firm to help develop and promote a pan-Canadian (i.e. provincial, territorial, national) advocacy message around enhancing access to psychological service through primary care.
