Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH)
CPA's Dr. Karen Cohen serves as vice-chair of the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH). CAMIMH coordinates Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW), an annual national public education campaign designed to help open the eyes of Canadians to the reality of mental illness. The Health Action Lobby (HEAL)
HEAL is a coalition of national health, health care and consumer organizations dedicated to protecting and strengthening Canada's health care system. Seven organizations came together to form HEAL in 1991 to respond to cuts in federal funding for health care. Since then, 22 other organizations have joined with HEAL to support the principles and objectives espoused by the coalition. Half a million Canadians are represented by these organizations.

Mental Health Table
The Mental Health Table (MHT) is comprised of 12 of Canada’s national associations representing regulated health care professionals who provide health care in Canada. Some of these are health professionals who provide specialized mental health care services and others provide health services to patient groups that include persons with mental health disorders and problems. Canadian Coalition for Public Health in the 21st Century (CCPH21)
The Canadian Coalition for Public Health in the 21st Century (CCPH21) is a national network of non-profit organizations, professional associations, health charities and academic researchers who share the common goal to improve and sustain the health of Canadians. Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network (PREVNet)
The Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network (PREVNet) is a national network of Canadian researchers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and governments committed to stop bullying. The primary goal of PREVNet is to translate and exchange knowledge about bullying to enhance awareness, to provide assessment and intervention tools, and to promote policy related to the problems of bullying. Canadian Association for School Health Communities of Practice
The Canadian Association for School Health (CASH) is a national association composed of provincial/territorial coalitions whose members promote the health of children and youth through school-related health promotion (Comprehensive School Health). Chronic Prevention Disease Alliance of Canada
The Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance of Canada (CDPAC) is a network of organizations who share a common vision for an integrated system of research, surveillance, policies, and programs for maintaining health and prevention of chronic disease in Canada. G7
CPA is a member of this group of national health care associations outside of medicine and nursing organized to advocate for the needs of this important health human resource that operates both within and outside of the public health sector. The G7 recently met to establish an advocacy agenda for the group around access to service and is working collaboratively to develop common datasets among provider groups to collect information about Canada’s health human resource.
