Hello fellow CPA members! I want to encourage you all to attend the upcoming 74th annual CPA Convention to be held in Quebec City from June 13th to June 15th 2013. This year's events will include an inspiring key note by our Honorary President, Justice Edward (Ted) Ormston who is passionate about improving access of Canadians to psychological services and was a founding force for the first Mental Health Court in Canada. In addition two very prominent psychologists will provide Keynote addresses: Dr. Thomas Gilovich whose research focuses on how people evaluate everyday information to draw conclusions, formulate beliefs and decide on a course of action will speak as will Dr. Philip Kendall who has conducted seminal work on the treatment of anxiety disorders in youth, cognitive-behavioral theory, assessment, and treatment, research methodology.

Other section nominated keynotes will be announced closer to the date and we can be assured that the convention will offer up hundreds of posters, symposia and workshops that cover a broad range of developments and topics in the science, practice and education of psychology.

Conventions are a time for the community of Canadian psychologists to come together to share knowledge, challenge each other's thinking and inspire great new work. It is also a time to renew old friendships and make new and productive Canadian psychology connections.

So join us for Convention 2013 in beautiful historic Quebec City! Don't forget about the social events; especially the Presidential Reception on Thursday evening and the main social event on Friday. I look forward to seeing you in Quebec! www.cpa.ca/convention
